2 seasons of a total of 50 episodes after its original release all the way back in October 5, 2013, Log Horizon season 3 is returning to our screens. With the third instalment of the show expected to drop on January 13, 2021. The show was set to release this fall but due to delays caused by the ongoing pandemic, the date was pushed back.
Directed by Shinji Ishihara, the show provides a similar feel as the popular anime series Sword Art Online. Toshizo Nemoto is the writer of this anime series. The show is based on a light novel series written by Mamare Touno. It has been adapted as manga’s and light novels along with the television series. The original language is Japanese but the show has been released in English. In terms of potential, the show is arguably one of the best short anime to watch. The only factor affecting the anime living up to its potential is the gaps between seasons according to several fans. However, the show has received negative criticisms for its character design.

Plot
Log Horizon is about a very popular game called Elder Tale that releases an expansion pack for its giant fanbase. However, the new pack drags around thirty thousand people into the game permanently in their in-game avatars.
During all this, the story introduces us to a gamer named Shiroe and his friends who vow to stick together to face their new lives in the virtual world. On their quest for survival, they are faced with many obstacles and tasks that make lives harder than ever. Log Horizon season 3 will surely bring several new twists and challenges as they move forward. The season is expected to bring more monsters and action sequence for its characters. No official trailer has been released yet and so it can be expected to come out next year.
