Canadian web-Tv series directed by Jacob Tierney and created and developed by Jared Keeso, Letterkenny, has already premiered eight seasons, has been renewed. The creators announced the renewal of the “Letterkenny Season 9” in June 2020 which will stream on Hulu.
It began as a YouTube web series known as Letterkenny Problems then it was commissioned as a television series by Crave in March’2015. Letterkenny was debuted in February’2016 and was later aired on The Comedy Network. This show is about the residents of Letterkenny, a small rural community in Ontario slightly based on Keeso’s hometown of Listowel, Ontario. The genre is a sitcom and the original language is English and 8 seasons with54 episodes. Letterkenny has won the award for Best Comedy Series at the 5th Canadian Screen Award, 2017.
Premise:
The story of Letterkenny revolves around a small rural Canadian community named Letterkenny and most episodes open with the text: “There are 5k people in Letterkenny. These are their problems.” focuses on siblings Wayne and Katy who own a small farm and produce which was set-up with help from Wayne’s friends Daryl and Squirrely Dan. It also focuses on Reilly and Jonesy(ice hockey players ) who used to be best friends and were involved in an on-and-off relationship with Katy.

This series received widespread appreciation from critics, particularly for its writing, acting, and the uniqueness and personality of the main character. Waller-Bridge won the British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for the first series. The second series received 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won six, with Waller-Bridge earning Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series; additional acting nominations were received by Clifford, Colman, and guest stars Fiona Shaw and Kristin Scott Thomas. The series received the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series and Best Actress for Waller-Bridge.

The creators announced the ninth season in June 2020 but as we know due to this coronavirus everything is getting delayed and filming is hampered. There isn’t any official release date till now, but we are expecting it to be released by 2021.
