Warrior Nun has been renewed for a second season by Netflix. This was done via a tweet on Aug 19, 2020. The series is bow coming back for demon-fighting action. But as of now no premiere date is available.
Netflix updated the series for a second season in the video released by the showrunner of the show, Simon Barry. Barry broke the news to the cast members who had gathered for the video. This included Alba Baptista, Toya Turner, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young, and Olivia Delcan.
Warrior Nun season one was dropped on July 2, 2020. The renewal of the show comes after a month and a half from when the show had made its initial release. The renewal was issued in August and the showrunner of the show, Barry is willing to incorporate the themes of religion, politics, and friendships very well into the second season as well.
How will season 2 of Warrior Nun unfold?
The series Warrior Nun has inspired by Ben Dunn’s “Warrior Nun Areala”. This manga centers on the story of a girl Ava, who is 19 years old. After waking up in the morgue, Ava finds that she has a new lease on life now and on her back divine artifact is now embedded. Ava makes an interesting discovery that she has now become a part of the ancient order. She belongs to the league which has to fight the demons on Earth. She has pursued by the powerful forces that want to find and control her.
By the finale of the first season, Ava accepts her sisters in arms. But, the show ends in an interesting cliffhanger. An evil angel-like figure named Adriel is back to create a nuisance. Adriel unleashes his demonic power on the Sister Nuns in the final moments of the first season.
Initially, Barry wanted to insert more into the cliffhanger sequence in the finale of the first season. He had discussed that the massive battle that will wreak havoc in the fate of the Sister Nuns will be developed further in the second season.
Barry adds: “We actually wrote a version of the ending that was a little bit more conclusive. I mean, it had a bit more meat on the bone in terms of what happened. And when we submitted that script to Netflix, they were like, “Hey, what if you cut this a little short?” We were all aghast at first. It was like, “Wow, that’s daring and a little bit dangerous,” Barry said.
But, eventually, the team agreed to the proposal and risked the ending according to what Netflix had suggested.

For the second season, Alba Baptista will play Ava Silva. Toya Turner will play Sister Mary/Shotgun Mary. Thekla Reuten will play Jillian Salvius. Lorena Andrea will play Sister Lilith. Kristina Tonteri-Young will play Sister Beatrice. Tristan Ulloa will play Father Vincent. Sylvia De Fanti will play Mother Superion.
When will the second season of Warrior Nun be available on Netflix?
At present no premiere date is available. The series has been greenlit for a second season. We can expect it to premiere sometime in 2021.
