Is Unbelievable 2 cancelled? Here is everything you need to know about it

The show, Unbelievable, was released as a short series. It starred only eight episodes in total. The second season of Unbelievable is highly unlikely. Creator Susannah Grant also affirmed that a second season was never meant to happen. Although she wasn’t completely opposed to the idea of turning this series into an anthology, presently, she is excited to try new stories. The series portrays the brutal reality of a young woman who was seeking justice for been assaulted sexually.

Overview

This show portrays Marie’s story, which received a deserving and decent conclusion by the end of the 8th episode. The story was brilliantly written and expertly narrated. It deserves to be a stand-alone series.

Although Marie’s story has come to its end, there is certainly the possibility of Wever and Collette teaming up once again for other cases. Grant needs to decide to take up another story and launch it in a new season. Until then, the future of Unbelievable Season 2 still continues to be skeptical for the upcoming days.

Unbelievable is produced by Susannah Grant, Ayelet Waldman, and Michael Chabon. This show had been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards. The show is also nominated for four Emmy Awards, which included in the category of Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series. Unbelievable had won the Peabody Award in the Entertainment category.

Unbelievable is based on the news article written by T. Christian and Ken Armstrong, titled “An Unbelievable Story of Rape.” It won the Pulitzer Prize. Unbelievable is streamed on the giant OTT platform Netflix and revolves around the real incidents of rape in Washington and Colorado.

Cast

Kaitlyn Dever is playing the character of the lead victim of sexual assault, Marie Adler. Toni Collette is playing the character of Det. Grace Rasmussen. Merritt Wever is playing the character of Det. Karen Duvall. Grace works in the Westminister Police Department, and Karen Duvall works in the Golden Police Department, respectively.
