The last season of House of Cards concluded on Netflix in November 2018 leaving fans wondering if a new season will ever come out.
House of Cards is a political drama based on Michael Dobb’s book of the same name. The show follows Frank Underwood, a Congressman whose mind is set on becoming the next President of The United States of America. He is supported by his wife Claire, an equally important character in the show.
It has now been almost three years since the last season was released and fans are wondering if there will ever be a Season 7. Here’s what we know of the matter.
House of Cards Season 7 Release Date
Netflix has announced season 6 of House of Cards will be its last following sexual harassment allegations against lead actor Kevin Spacey. Whether or not the show was canceled in response to these allegations is a mystery, but it might have not helped our (the fans) case for sure.
The allegations were made before the release of season 6 and as a result, the showrunners decided to kill Spacey’s character offscreen. At this point, co-star Robin Wright who plays Claire Underwood carried the show for the remainder of the season, but it is unlikely that the show will keep its flair now that the main character is gone.
House of Cards Plot
Frank Underwood is an ambitious Congressman whose plan is to become the next President of the USA. However, the first step to this plan fails as someone else is appointed the Secretary of State, a role that Underwood had been promised. Feeling betrayed, he sets out on a path of revenge, using cunning but very unethical methods to manipulate, threaten, and ruin the reputations of everyone who stands in his way.
