Season 2 of Dr.Stone has officially been confirmed, and a trailer has also been released. Written by Riichrio Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, the Japanese Manga’s first season aired in July last year.
Set in 5738 AD, centuries after a freak event turns all humans into stone figurines, the show follows Senku, a young boy who revived into a world that has forgotten the human race. As Senku is the genius, sets out on finding a cure for humanity and ends up discovering that he has been revived by a compound of nitric acid.
Senku develops a similar compound to revive other humans. So that, he decides to build a society on the foundations of science. He is opposed by Tsukasa, who is a martial artist bent on constructing a society born of power and strength.
The show is one of the finest animes released this decade, with an IMDB rating of 8.2/10.
With fans eager for the second season to arrive, here’s what we know of the matter so far.
Dr Stone Season 2 Trailer and Release Date
According to sources, season 2 of Dr.Stone may release in January 2021, with filming currently underway. The exact release date is still unknown.
Season 2 Plot
Judging from the trailer, it seems that season 2 of Dr.Stone is all set to cover the Stone Wars arc from the manga. This is big news considering just how that arc was in the manga, and a delight considering we get to see the animated version this soon.
Senku is also about to invent the first phone in the new world, which will benefit his side greatly in the war against Tsukasa’s forces.
Taiju and Yuzuriha, who were noticeably absent for the latter arc of season 1, might make a comeback as well.
