The announcement was made on January about the release of season 3. The release date of season 3 is expected to be during April 2021. The production has already begun.

The story introduces Joe Goldberg, who is a bookstore manager. He, as a child, was neglected by his parents and adopted by Mr. Mooney, who is a bookstore manager. He wasn’t treated well by him too. Mooney passes on the love for reading to Joe, but he also didn’t treat him well, locking the boy in the same vault, which reminds some of us about the life of harry potter. Due to such childhood incidents, Joe develops a hero complex where he feels the need to save people who are vulnerable and also is attracted to weak and vulnerable women.
The story is carried on by exhibiting Joe’s love life which turns toxic as he is ready to kill anyone who stand in his way. Season 1 ends with Joe killing his girlfriend Beck after she finds out about his previous murders and reappearing of Joes ex-girlfriend for some unfinished business.
Season two shows the beginning of a new love story, a new name and a new home for Joe Goldberg. He falls in love with a girl named love whom we later on realize is similar to Joe. She later on gets pregnant and they decide to take a break and start their own little family. But it doesn’t end there. The final episode shows Joe looking through his backyard crack and the last lines were “see you soon…. neighbour”.
Season 3 might bring back the old joe with his weird obsession who we can predict is his neighbour. Things won’t be going well for him once again as he is going to be stuck between his new family and his new obsession. What will Joe do for love this time?

The neighbour, who is Joes new obsession from what we saw in season 2 is possibly his mom according to the fan theories. But in an interview this theory was shut down by Penn confirming that the neighbour is definitely not his mom. He also mentioned that things won’t be going well for Joe. The wait will soon be over as this will be released next year and the fans of Joe Goldberg can soon find out whether he is up to a killing spree again because after all what would you do for love?
