Xbox One gets a New Xbox UI update ahead of Xbox Series X, Series S launch in November

The users of Xbox one will be able to use the new update which is live now. Microsoft brings this new dashboard design which will run on all Xbox consoles.

Microsoft had revealed the first look of its unified Xbox UI in August. This new update stretches across mobile apps, PC and consoles. As you await the release of the upcoming new Microsoft Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles which will roll out next month, you should check the new Xbox UI on the existing Xbox One X and the Xbox One S consoles. This updated user interface focuses on the improvement in performance and to unify the layout on the consoles, Xbox mobile apps and also the PC interface.

What are the added features in the new Xbox UI?

The release of the UI supports additional four languages in its new features —Hungarian, Greek, Slovak and Czech. As a part of the October 2020 Xbox One Update, the users will also have the access to the Xbox Customer Profile themes, which previously only the Xbox Insiders could access.

New Xbox UI also includes a new dashboard. The recent dashboard loads 50% faster after booting your Xbox, as compared to it previous version. It will be almost 30% faster to load when you return from the game.

According to Microsoft, the upgrade is seen i Guide, My Games & Apps and Settings. Jonathan Hildebrandt, who is currently the Principal Program Manager, Xbox Experiences said, “The new design includes changes to our tile shape, fonts, and focus indicator across the experience.”

But, Microsoft confirms that the changes are not so variant and the new UI retains the familiarity with the one it succeeds.

Chris Novak, Head of Xbox Research & Design gives a detailed description about the new Xbox UI. “The new Xbox look and feel is designed to be faster to use, more approachable and visually appealing. This holiday it will be shared across all Xbox mobile apps, Xbox Game Pass on PC, and of course Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles. Text is more readable, elements on screen are easier to understand at a glance, and accomplishing your tasks is faster than ever. This includes tile shape, fonts, an updated illustration style, and more.”

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S will release on November 10, 2020.
