Director Patty Jenkins shares why she thinks the super-hero film should have two villains.
As the year passes by, there’s a lot to look forward to as far as the DC Extended Universe is concerned. It seems like there are a lot of fascinating titles that can be expected in the upcoming years. The theatres will be peaking with audience members who might even be willing to pay twice the money for the ticket. This experience is truly missed by the audience and surely, many of films that are upcoming will receive imminent success. Considering the point of the DC Universe, it is safe to note that we will be seeing Wonder Woman 1984 very soon.
According to the report published regarding the release date of the film, it is expected that the film will be releasing in August this year. Furthermore, we also have a lot of new characters coming up in the movie. Along with the good guys, we also have not one but two brand new villains. According to the recent report, Kristin Wiig and Pedro Pascal are expected to play the roles of Cheetah and Maxwell Lord respectively. They will be playing two different roles and in those two different roles, they will be working on taking down the Wonder Woman individually.
For the comic book fans, this is an absolute delight. It is important to note that the comic book fans are excited about the fact that Cheetah is planning on making her DCEU debut with the Wonder Woman 1984. Along with her will be Kristen Wiig who was a good character before she underwent a villainous transformation. Further to this, we are also aware that Game of Thrones-famed actor, Pedro Pascal is also returning as the Maxwel Lord. It seems like he will be maintaining a good front for the viewers, who are looking to see what’s been up. This can be a human threat for many other characters in the movie, including Diana Prince.
In a recent interview, while talking about both the strong villains, the director of the movie, Wonder Woman 1984 stated, “It turned out that the story was the thing that gave birth to the need for both. It wasn’t that I thought I needed both. Cheetah was the villain that we were focused on having in this movie but then Max Lord, throughout the history of Wonder Woman comics – he serves a very mechanical purpose, often.”
This sure is an interesting take on Wonder Woman. It seems like the director of the movie is quite certain that she didn’t want to invent two villains but it appears like it ended up taking place, as a result of them working towards it. They ended up bringing Maxwell Lord into the picture again and this process ended up creating a very good movie for the audience. This is surely a treat in the waiting for the fans. We hope that we receive more developments about the movie as the time goes by.
