Wonder Woman 1984 Release Date Finally Confirmed After 5 Delays.

WW84

2017’s Wonder Woman movie was a Box Office hit, both fan ratings and earnings were so high (7.4 IMDB and $821.8 million in the Box Office) that it only made sense for Warner Bros to go ahead and make a sequel.

Enter Wonder Woman 1984, DC’s answer to the vividly colourful Thor: Ragnarok. Originally set to release in December 2019, this movie starring Gal Gadot has now been delayed 5 times, the most recent of which was due to the COVID-19 restrictions. However, it seems like we finally have a release date set in stone, read on to find out what we know so far.

Wonder Woman 1984 Release Date

Wonder Woman 1984 is now set to release on Christmas (December 25) this year, with no more probable cause for delay. We’ll still keep our fingers crossed, considering the number of times the movie has already been delayed.

While counting down the days to Christmas, you can watch the Wonder Woman 1984 trailer here:

Wonder Woman 1984 Plot

The movie is set in 11984 in the cold war era. Princess Diana will face two formidable new foes- a businessman by the name of Maxwell Lord, and The Cheetah, who is a prominent Wonder Woman foe in the comics.

This movie will probably fill the gap left in between the events of Wonder Woman which took place in World War I and Batman vs Superman, which was in 2016. Diana hasn’t aged at all during this period, which seems reasonable considering she’s the immortal daughter of Zeus.

As for Steve Trevor, who supposedly died in the first film, he too somehow finds a place in the movie, as we can see from the trailer. How exactly he survives will be revealed only when the movie is released.

Will There be Any Justice Leaguers in the Movie?

The good thing about shared universe movies is that anything is possible in them, as is depicted brilliantly by the Marvel movies. The same goes for movies like Wonder Woman that fall under DC’s jurisdiction. Although the movie takes place at a time in which the likes of Batman and Superman were probably just babies, we might get post-credit scenes linking the movie to future installations of the DCEU.
