One of America’s most popular superhero films, Wonder Woman, is all set to make a comeback! This 2017 action-thriller has been adapted from a DC Comics character of the same name. Wonder Woman 1984 is supposed to be the sequel of the 2017 Wonder Woman. As per sources, Patty Jenkins will return with her direction in the upcoming sequel. Wonder Woman has been critically acclaimed for its best dramatic presentation and direction. It starred Gal Gadot, Chris Pines, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya in the lead roles. The film became the tenth highest-grossing film of 2017, with a collection of over $800 million worldwide. The film even went on and made several eminent awards its own, including the awards for the best actress and the best director. The release of the first part got a lot of fans excited and they are really looking forward to the next part with as much enthusiasm.
When Will Wonder Woman 1984 Hit The Screens?
The fan was promised the sequel by the makers last year. But since then, the official release date has been shifted five times! This kind of upset the fans who were waiting for the sequel since forever. The original release of Jenkins’ masterpiece was supposed to happen in December of 2019, it then got shifted to 5 June 2020, followed by 14 August. The film got postponed for a release in October 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. As of now, the final dates of its release that has been decided is of 25 December 2020. The makers have justified this delay by saying that they want the launch of this big film to be on a big screen. She mentioned, “Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience, I’m hoping you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer.” They are expecting the movie halls to open properly by December, which has been shut temporarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be a very merry Christmas for all of us!
Who Will Return As The Cast?
Gal Gadot and Chris Pine are indeed expected to return as Diana Prince and Steve Trevor, respectively. Other than that, the makers have confirmed the incorporation of two main villains in the sequel – Kristen Wiig is supposed to play the role of Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal will be featured as Max Lord.
Has There Been A Trailer Launch for Wonder Woman?
There have been two trailers so far – one that has released in December 2019 and another on 22 August 2020. Both of these trailers for Wonder Woman have given a glimpse of how stunning and adventurous the next sequel is going to be!
