Season 4 of A Good Place concluded earlier this year in January. Spanning over 4 seasons with 13 episodes in each, the show has been praised by viewers and critics alike. With an IMDB rating of 8.2 and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%, the show has left people wondering if Eleanor and Team Cockroach will be returning to our screens again for the fifth season. Truth be told, the possibility of a season 5 seems highly unlikely, since season 4 brought the plot full circle and didn’t leave much fuel left for the fifth season.

Will There be a Good Place Season 5?
Creator Michael Schur has confirmed that the story that The Good Place intended to tell has been told. Thus, it is not likely that the show will be renewed for a fifth season, it simply would not make any sense to do so.
The show’s first season was released on September 19, 2016, and the last episode aired recently on January 30, 2020.

The Good Place: A Synopsis
Eleanor Shellstrop arrives at a heavenly place after her death. She is told this is ‘The Good Place’, something she has a hard time believing in since she is not exactly sure she deserves to be there. Eleanor forms Team Cockroach with Chidi, Tahani, and Jason, and they discover that they are not in A Good Place after all. The team goes undercover in order to try and find why humans have not been allowed to enter A Good Place for centuries. The team ends up defeating the system and rewriting the rules, opening up the doors to A Good Place for humans after ages.
As one can obviously see, there isn’t much of a story left for the fifth season to tell.
