Fantasy adventure comedy movie series Jumanji has a global fan following and people from all age groups whether be it, kids, teens, adults, and old members of the family, all have welcomed Jumanji with open arms. Now, people are waiting for the Jumanji 4 to hit theatres so they could once submerge themselves in another couple of hours of unworldly action and adventure.
When will Jumanji 4 release?
Seeing the past track records, Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level both received December releases two years apart (December 20, 2017 and December 13, 2019, respectively). We can easily assume that a fourth Jumanji would aim for a December 2021 release. At present Jumanji 4 is in very early stages of development, and considering the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that affected shoots of nearly all movies and web tv series, we can expect a delay in the release of Jumanji 4. All the shootings are on halt as creators and actors are in lockdown in order to follow social distancing. Hence we can expect a delay of nearly six months to a full year from the tentative release date.
“We’re just starting to talk about all of that, and the truth is we’ve barely started [on the film],” director Jacob Kasdan explained. “We were just getting into the conversation before this global calamity and we will re-engage it as soon as everybody’s settled. We all love working together and we’ve loved making these.”
Commenting on Jumanji 4, actor Dwayne Johnson revealed that “The next installment in the franchise would reveal that the villainous Jurgen the Brutal was an avatar in the game, and that who was playing as the character would be explored.”
Let’s look at the cast who will feature in Jumanji 4
Seeing the success of Jumanji: The Next Level, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black, will surely feature in the upcoming sequel. They’ll be joined by Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain and Morgan Turner as the unlucky players, and they could be joined again by Danny DeVito as Spencer’s (Wolff) grandfather Eddie. Danny Glover could also return as Eddie’s friend Milo. Other likely returns include Nick Jonas and Awkwafina as the other Jumanji avatars Jefferson ‘Seaplane’ McDonough and Ming Fleetfoot, respectively, as well as Colin Hanks as Alex Vreeke.
Jumanji 4 Plot
Since Jumanji 4 is in nascent stages of development it is very hard to comment on the plot. However, the sequel will begin from where The Next Level ended. In the third part we saw the Jumanji game world coming into the real world, like it did in the original 1995 movie. This suggests that we can expect to see Spencer and co attempt to solve the problem, and we imagine the solution will lie in them going back into the Jumanji game world to allow for the return of Dr Smolder Bravestone and the other explorers.
“Not much beyond what you can see there [in the credits scene],” he explained when asked if he has the sequel plotted out. “You know, there’s hope that if this one is received in such a way, that we’re having that conversation.”
