Watch stunning satellite image of India on 5 April 2020 at 9 pm shot from space

NASA satellites have beamed back a stunning image of India captured on 5 April, 2020 at 9 pm when all the citizens switched off their lights and lighted Diyas and candles while standing on their balconies, terrace, and gates.

This historic event happened after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked citizens of India on Friday to switch off lights of their houses and light candles and diyas on 5 April, 2020 at 9 pm for nine minutes on their balconies and gates. The entire world witnessed tremendous response and unity of Indian citizens as every citizen took the responsibility and followed the request of PM Modi.

What’s striking was that apart lighting diyas and candles, people also started enchanting patriotic slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Matram” collectively to show their unity amid 21 day lockdown due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, satellite image of India on 5 April 2020, surface the internet where one can see darkened India with few bright yellow spots that appear mesmerizing. The bright spots in the stunning image represent highly crowded regions including major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Pune.

PM Modi tweeted a Sanskrit shloka, along side photos of himself, which means: “Salutations to the Light of the Lamp which Brings auspiciousness, health and prosperity, which Destroys Inimical Feelings; Salutations to the Light of the Lamp.”

Major celebrities including Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bacchan, Rio Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik, London Games bronze winner Saina Nehwal, cricketers Virender Sehwag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina and many others took to social media and shared the pics to show their presence in the fight against the deadly disease.

People took to twitter and shared amazing view of India on 5 April 2020.

 

Soon after the historic event, people captured the pics and apart from sharing it on social media, they started forwarding it on Whatsapp and nearly the all the groups were flooded with pictures showing people with diyas and candles as if they were celebrating Diwali festival.

Once again no social boundary stopped people from following the request of PM Modi, as rich, poor, people from every caste and gender came together to show their togetherness and solidarity in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic that brought the world to a standstill.

Entire world is witnessing the demon of COVID-19 that has struck nearly all the major economies and forced people to stay in their home in order to maintain social distancing. Amid the crisis, small acts of unity can give people the strength to fight the global pandemic and come out on the winning side. Such gesture also increases the motivation of workers and doctors that have to go on work amid crisis in order to fulfil the basic needs of people. Salute to those who put their lives on stake in order to protect people from the crisis.
