Venom 2: Release Date, Trailer, Cast, Everything You Need to Know!

Sony has announced a sequel for Venom. The movie is officially titled as “Venom: Let there be Carnage”. A short teaser has been released revealing the official logo of Venom 2. Although Venom broke a few records in the Box office, it was not critically received well. However, the movie is back with part 2 to win positive remarks.

About Venom

Venom is an American superhero film, premiered in 2018. It is based on a superhero character from Marvel Comics. It is the first film under Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. Venom appeared in Spider Man for the first time in 2003. Later, Sony decided to create a spin-off focusing Venom.

Venom depicts the story of a journalist named Eddie Brock. He is known to follow people who do not want to be followed. An attempt to uncover allegations received by the Life Foundation ruins his entire career. Six months later, he comes across the foundation again by one of their leading scientists. Subsequently, Eddie comes across an alien known as a Symbiote. Venom, the Symbiote, chooses Eddie’s body to attach and adapt to. Consequently, Brock gets in trouble because of Carlton Drake’s evil plans. Carlton is the leader of the Life Foundation. He wants to turn humans into full Symbiotes with his invasion forces.

Hence, Eddie, now Venom uses his superpowers to stop Drake from continuing with his plan. After the incident, Brock returns to journalism. The Venom is thought to be dead and no longer attached to Eddie. However, the two still secretly share bond. They continue to set protect San Francisco from criminals.

Release Date of Venom 2

Venom 2 was planned to be on board since the production of Venom in 2018. The first movie was intentionally ended with the appearance of a serial killer named Cletus Kasady. In the end, Eddie is invited to interview Cletus, who promises “carnage” when he escapes.

Subsequently, production began in early 2019. Filming took place from November 2019 to February 2020, and the title was announced in April 2020.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage was initially scheduled to be released in October 2020. However, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, Sony recently announced that it would not release Spider-Man and Venom until the pandemic is over. But for now, the movie is set to release on 25 June 2021.

What to expect from Venom 2

In addition to the supposed plot, people are coming up with their own theories. The word is Kraven the Hunter will make his live-action debut in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Kraven is the most important Spider-Man villain. Apart from Venom 2, Sony has other Marvel movies in line. One of them is about Kraven the Hunter. Hence, it is rumored that Sony could include Kraven’s guest appearance in Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Also, there are rumors about the possibility of a Spider-Man crossover. But these are all guesses; nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
