Early Life of Tom Holland

Thomas Stanley Holland was born on 1 June 1996. Born and brought up Kingston upon Thames, London, young Tom was passionate for dancing. He studied at Donhead, a Roman Catholic preparatory school for boys. Later he joined Wimbledon College. He was an active artist in school and took part in theaters and stage performances. However, Tom was also bullied in school for being a dancer.

After leaving Wimbledon, Tom joined The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. He was into hip-hop and his skills were recognized by choreographer Lynne Page. He suggested Tom for ‘Billy Elliot the Musical’. Tom learnt gymnastics for the role and auditioned for it. He played Michael, Billy’s friend. His performance was highly appreciated and he was recognized for his work. He also gave various interviews after that play.

In addition, during his late teen years, Tom also attended carpentry school in Wales. It was the time when Tom was not a renowned actor.

Career

After success of ‘Billy Elliot the Musical’, Holland was cast for dubbing as Sho in an animated film called Arrietty. Finally, Holland’s debut feature film, The Impossible, came in 2012. His role and acting were critically acclaimed. He even received many awards including London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year. He was later featured in 2013 film ‘How I Live Now’. Tom also worked with Tom Hardy in ‘Locke’. Later, he reappeared in Billy Elliot the Musical Live (2014) to celebrate his role as a Billy. Then in 2014, Tom Holland appeared in miniseries ‘Wolf Hall’ and also played in ‘In the Heart of the Sea’.

Finally in 2015, Tom Holland was appointed as Peter Parker. He signed a six picture deal with with Marvel Studios that changed his life. Holland even tweeted about how his life was flipped upside down.

Firstly he appeared as Spider Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Later in 2017, Spiderman: the Homecoming was released. The film was a huge success. Also, Tom Holland was highly appreciated for his role. In fact, with the role of Peter Parker, Holland made to Guinness Book of World Records as the younger actor to play MCU title role. Subsequently, he reappeared in various Marvel movies as SpiderMan. Later, Spiderman sequel ‘Spiderman: Far from Home’ came out in 2019.
