Tom Hanks is an American director, producer, screenwriter and actor. He was born on July 9,1956. Hanks came to fame with Forrest Gump which was released in 1994. He is well known for comedic and dramatic roles. His breakthrough in films were two comedic films Splash and Big which were released back in the 80’s. He won two academic awards for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.

Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born in Concord, California on July 9,1956. His mother Janet Marylyn was a hospital worker and father Amos Mefford Hanks was a cook. His mother was Portugese and father belonged to English ancestry. They were divorced in 1960. They had three children Sandra, Larry and Tom. He studied high school at Skyline High School in Oakland, California.
Tom studied theatre at Chabot College in Hayward, California, and after two years he was transferred to California State University, Sacramento.
Personal Life
Hanks was married to actress Samantha Lewes in 1978. They had one daughter Elizabeth Hanks and One son Colin Hanks. The couple were seperated in 1987. In 1981, Hank met Rita Wilson on the set of Bossom Buddies and met back in 1985 on the set of Volunteers. Hank married Wilson in 1988 after being divorced with Samantha Lewes. Hank and Wilson had two sons, Chester Marlon Hanks and Truman Theodore. Thomas lives with his family in Los Angeles, California and Ketchum, Idaho.
Recently, Hanks and his wife were tested positive for COVID-19 while shooting on the sets of Elvis in Queensland, Australia. A few days after that they were discharged from the hospital and went back to Los Angeles following their quarantine.
