The new sequel by Taika Watiti will make Jane the new Thor, known as the Mighty Thor. The news about Natalie’s involvement in Thor 4 was announced in 2019, at San Diego Comic Con. Certainly, now Natalie Portman herself confirmed by announcing that she has started preparing for her role. She is all set to get into her superhero body. In an interview, Natalie confirmed that her journey of turning into a superhero has begun. She said, “I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is.”
Meanwhile, the reports say, “The comics used the power of Mjolnir to physically transform Jane into someone with a god-like physique, but the MCU hasn’t shown Mjolnir to have such powers yet.”
What will be Jane’s story in Thor 4
Natalie has appeared as Jane, who is a scientist, and a cancer patient. Hence, the major question that aroused for Jane as Mighty Thor was about her cancer. People wanted to know if Jane will be shown to still have cancer or would the super powers treat her. However, sharing the details regarding Thor 4’s storyline in an interview, Natalie confirmed the speculations. She said that the film is based on the Mighty Thor storyline and it will show Jane battling cancer. Natalie said, “It’s based on the graphic novel of the Mighty Thor. Jane’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side,”
According to Marvel Comics, Jane appears as the Mighty Thor when Thor finds himself unworthy of Mjolnir in the Original Sin event. Consequently, he is forced to abandon his hammer on the Moon. But later, on the final page of Thor #1, there is a mysterious woman reaching the hammer, saying “There must always be a Thor”. Subsequently, she raises the Mjolnir and transforms into the Goddess of Thunder. As a result, she gets blessed with superhuman strength, endurance, knowledge, durability, and flight.
