The Witcher Season 2: All you need to know

Produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, The Witcher is an enigmatic American fantasy television drama series premiering worldwide on Netflix. The first season of The Witcher consisted of eight episodes and was available on December 20, 2019. We might have the second season soon on our screens and here’s what you need to know about it.

The Witcher is adapted from the book series of the same-titled consisting of The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny penned down by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. In the iconic role of Geralt of Rivia, we have the talented actor Henry Cavill, and he brilliantly expands on his previous characterization from this franchise. Cavill plays the role of The Witcher with utmost precision and delivers the swordsmanship, character and dialogues beautifully. Besides him, we have in the lead role Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allen as Princess Cirilla, and they perform their functions wonderfully in this fantasy series.

The Witcher Season 2: Release date

The filming for the second season of The Witcher was resumed on August 17, 2020. The release date of the second season has not been revealed yet, but since the production has been renewed, we can expect it on our screens soon, sometime in early 2021.

The eighth episode of The Witcher Season 1 unites Geralt of Rivia with Princess Cirilla, but this is just a beginning of their story, and this saga will continue in the second season with Geralt, Yennefer and Cirilla.
