Little did Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski know that when he’d be writing a series of fantasy novels, they will end up being so successful that they end up being adapted into one film, two television series and a trilogy of video games in the distant future. The books have been considered as establishing a cult in regions of Poland and certain Eastern European countries. The first season, produced by Netflix, meets absolute completion, thanks to the sexy presence made by Henry Cavill.
As the first season concludes, an official confirmation for the second one has also been made by the showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich. In recent reports, Hissrich also revealed the plot of the upcoming series. According to him, the second season can be expected to dig a little deeper into the villains represented through the series. There is a lot of storyline that can be explored through numerous seasons of the series as the Polish writer has left many parts of the novels. Netflix is also expected to back the production up with enough financial fuel to reach completion as it has proven to be the second-biggest show for them in 2019. The series is second only to ‘StrangerThings.’
‘The Witcher’ as mentioned previously, features Henry Cavill in the main role as the Geralt of Rivia. The first season surrounds the journey of Cavill’s character. His journey as the monster hunter is quite interesting. He is shown to have resided in The Continent. All throughout his journey, he meets numerous characters. During this time, he also ends up crossing paths with Yennefer of Vengerberg, the sorceress of the town. He will also end up meeting the love of his life.
Based on the books, the first season doesn’t seem to have explored a lot. In fact, reports suggest that the series only ended up scratching the surface of Sapkowski’s first novel. Fans are therefore eager to see what Netflix has in store for them. However, not much has been said about the release date of the next season. It seems like this may also be shelved due to the on-going Coronavirus situation, just like many of the other releases are affected. The production and direction teams across all film industries have come to standstill. Those who were able to complete post-production and editing of the series, are able to release their respective titles. Unfortunately, ‘The Witcher’ season 2 is nowhere next to this list.
