Harlan Coben’s adaptation of the novel The Stranger (2015) as a mystery thriller series was quite a hit. Since then, we have been asking for the second season. As of now, the second season is not confirmed.
The first part had premiered on Netflix on January 30, 2020, and it was an eight-part series. Harlan Coben is an interview had told that this series is “designed to be binged.”
The renewal of the series is pretty doubtful at present. The author of this novel has confessed that this series has been “created for one season,” and no plans are currently being discussed to renew it.
Harlan Coben adds that:
“We don’t think it’s fair to have one of those shows where they don’t give you all the answers, and you have to wait until season two before you get it. This is a closed story. You learned all the answers by the end, and the ending is tremendously satisfying.”
The Stranger is composed by David Buckley and by Daniel O’Hara and Hannah Quinn. Harlan Coben praised Richard Armitage for his role, and he said that Armitage had worked quite hard to make his character and story right.
The Stranger Season 2: When will it be released?
As of now, the second season of The Stranger has not been confirmed. But the first season was highly praised by the fans and critics. We do not expect the second season of the series to release by next year, at least if it is getting a renewal. While the show was originally intended to air for just one season, till now, the news of cancellation has not been ordered.

The Stranger season 1: Ending
During the events of the first season, Corrine was murdered. By the finale, it is revealed that it was Tripp who had murdered her and buried her at the reservoir. Corinne knew of her secrets about him stocking away the football club cash. Corrine tries to get away with these details, but he hits her head with a hammer killing her. This explains why Corrine had gone missing.
