The Society is an American mystery thriller web television drama created by Christopher Keyser for Netflix. The series debuted on the streaming platform on 10 May 2019. Ever since the debut of The Society on Netflix, the viewers are hooked to the show because of its engaging plot line and brilliant cast.
The Society follows the story of a group of teenagers in West Ham who must learn to survive in the world without any of other parents, but just them. The outside world no longer exists for them, the dense forest marks the end of their town. Also, there is no way to contact anyone as no internet is available. So, the group of teenagers has to come up with their rules to survive in the world with very limited resources, thus, forming a society.
Release Date of The Society Season 2
The series was renewed for the second instalment right after the debut, keeping in view the eagerness and love of the fans for the series. Unfortunately, Netflix did cancel the renewal, but again, fortunately, on 21 August 2020 Netflix renewed it for the second season. The cancellation was due to the pandemic outbreak of Covid-19. The Society Season 2 will release maybe early in 2021 if productions get done by late 2020. There is no official date yet but expect it anytime in the next year.
Plot of The Society Season 2
The first season’s final episode ended on a cliff-hanger, where we saw Grizz founding a land for cultivation and turkeys, and in the town Allie and Will got arrested because of Harry and Campbell. In the upcoming season, we will get all the answers to our eager questions like how they ended up there? Why they ended up there without anyone? Etc. The creators haven’t revealed any details regarding the plot, they’re keeping it under wrap. It will be interesting to see what the next season of The Society will bring!
Cast of The Society 2
The regular cast of the first season of the show will reprise their respective roles in the upcoming season that include, Kathryn Newton, Alex Fitzalan, Jack Mulhern, Sean Burdy, Toby Wallace, Natasha Liu, Kristine Froseth, Jacques Coleman, and few others. We might get to see some new faces in the next season, but it is not yet announced.
