Naughty Dog is known for developing several well-made games over the years such as Crash Bandicoot and Uncharted. Although they are all great games, arguably their best game so far has been the Last of Us series. Directed by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann, the game first came out in 2013 for Playstation 3 and in July 2014 for Playstation 4. The game was an instant hit and sold over 1.3 million units in its first week.
The game was given the title of the second-highest-rated game in 2013 trailing only GTA5 by acclaimed review aggregators like Metacritic. It also received numerous accolades with some of the more important ones coming from the Daily Mirror and Telegraph. The ratings were through the roof with several top sites like Eurogamer and Edge rating the game an incredible 10/10.
What can we expect from the game?
The second part to the game came out on June 19, 2020, following a few delays due to the pandemic. The weekend after the release saw the game sell over 4 million units making it one of the fastest-selling games on PS4.
The plot of the game shows us the world after a deadly outbreak of a type of fungus called Cordyceps that turns humans into aggressive creatures. After the initial outbreak, the remaining survivors are forced to continue survival in several policed quarantine zones. The game follows two characters, Joel and Ellie, as they work together to attempt to go across the United States. On their way, Joel finds out that Ellie had actually been affected but it didn’t have an effect on her. With this knowledge, they realise that Ellie could be the key to finding a cure to the deadly disease.
The players control Joel in this third-person game in which characters defend themselves using improvised weapons. Troy Baker lends his voice for Joel’s character while Ashley Johnson does the same for Ellie. Other voice actors in the game include Hana Hayes as Sarah and Jeffery Pierce as Tommy.
Updates in the Last of Us?
The second part of the series was a huge success with the game making several million within days of its release. The game was praised for improving considerably even though the first part of the game seemed near perfect. The ratings were mind-blowing as well with Metacritic giving the game a solid 93/100. It’s safe to say the second part did not disappoint in any way. With greatly improved gameplay, graphics and even music, the game are definitely worth buying.

Although the game is banned in a few countries because it features a gay relationship between two of the main characters, it is still available in most countries. The game is available for Playstation 3 and 4 only. The game can be yours for a price of around $59.99.
