The Hangover: What made the comic so popular?

The Hangover released in the year 2009 is an American comedy film. The movie is directed by Todd Phillips and is co-produced by Daniel Goldberg. The Hangover is wonderfully written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. It is the first featured movie in The Hangover trilogy.

It depicts the story of four characters Phil Wenneck, Stu Price, Alan Garner, and Doug Billings, who end up in Las Vegas for celebrating the bachelor party of Doug’s pending marriage. However after the party, Phil, Stu, and Alan when they wake up find Doug missing. They have absolutely no memory of what had happened the previous night. And then, they must now search the groom before the wedding happens.

The Hangover movie was released on June 5 in 2009, and was indeed a critical and highly commercial success throughout. The movie became the 10th highest-grossing film in 2009. It did an all over world gross of more than $467 million.

What made the storyline of this comic?

To celebrate the bachelorette for his upcoming marriage to fiancé Tracy, Doug chooses to travel to Las Vegas. He takes with him his best friends Phil and Stu, as well as Alas, Tracy’s brother. They stay in a hotel suite in Caesars Palace, and together go to celebrate with a few drinks on the rooftop of hotel. The very next morning, Phil, Stu, and Alan wake up and find they have lost memory of the previous night celebration. They could not find Doug anywhere. They then discover a mess in the room.

These mess created in the party then leads to a chain of events that takes place throughout the movie. They get to know about the drugs they have been injected with. They face various people throughout and this leads to a much comic messy movie.

Who made the movie so popular?

Bradley Cooper takes up the character as Phil, a teacher and the said leader of the Wolf pack who goes to Vegas. Ed Helms plays the role of Stu who is a dentist. Zach Galifianakis is Alan in the movie, who is Doug’s to-be brother-in-law, who many times acts childishly and erratically. Justin Bartha plays the character of Doug, the to-be groom, who is found missing after his bachelorette. Heather Graham is Jade; she is the stripper and escort who seem to have married Doug. Sasha Barrese plays as Tracy, Doug’s to-be bride and also Alan’s sister.

Reviews and awards!

Financially the movie was a wonderful success. It made a sale in millions. And it made itself into the tenth highest grossing movies of the year 2009. Worldwide the box office collection was huge. The trilogy then released its sequels in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Its DVD was sold in millions. The comedy made its way into the hearts of the audience. The movie also grabbed much appreciable ratings in the media. The ratings were around 7/10. In 2010 The Hangover won the award of Best Motion Picture in Golden Globe Award.
