Here’s all you need to know about the Friends reunion.
It has been official for quite some time now that Friends is expected to make its return. It will be fifteen years and nine months to be precise since the last episode of the immensely-popular show, Friends released for the larger audience. The production team backing the series is HBO Max. The industry-leading giant announced that they will be bringing the whole cast of actors together for a reunion of the highly-anticipated show. The whole cast would include Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry back into the series. The team will be reuniting for an unscripted special series. As per the original news, this was suppose to start taking place from May, 2020 onward.
In a recent statement, HBO Max’s Chief Content Officer stated, “Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together – we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courtney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special.” It is also further stated that this programme is expected to be programmed alongside the same seasons as the original series of Friends.
What’s more? The shooting for Friends is also expected to take place around the same soundstage and set that was used to shoot the original Friends. According to a report published by CNET, Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio is Burbank, California is where the original filming took place and they will be following the same kind of things with the latest upcoming reunion of Friends.
“It’s happening!”
All the main cast members of Friends used Instagram as the platform to announce their ultimate reunion. In a post, all of them captioned, “It’s happening.” They were obviously posing together in the show. Needless to say, the Instagram post ended up garnering nearly 10 million likes and endless shares by millions of pages online. Among the fans, there were also actors who ended up re-tweeting the announcement in utter joy. The list of celebrities included:

Furthermore, the series is expected to be directed by Ben Winston. Along with them are the other producers, who also happen to be the main cast of the series, with Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, perry and Schwimmer being among them. As we already know, all the 236 episodes of the original Friends series have been acquired by HBO Max. The streaming service is able to make much revenue out of the same.
Towards the end of this year, HBO Max is further expected to launch a new package at $15 a month which will include numerous leading titles including Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Sex and the City, The Big Bang Theory, The Sopranos, Veep, The Gossip Girl and Sesame Street to name a few.
