Fans have been waiting for the 4th season of Netflix’s hit Stranger Things with anticipation, but it seems that it will be a long time before the release. According to the Natalia Dyer, who played the role of Nancy Wheeler in the most popular show, the upcoming season will be worth the wait.
The actress believes that “the upcoming season of Stranger Things will be its best yet.” The reason behind her belief according to the media reports is the production pause could help the writers out when putting the popular show’s fourth season together.
Instead of writing later episodes after the filming of the first few episodes has begun, Natalia revealed that the authors could take their time for plot details. When the whole world is suffering from the most infectious disease, the actress has remained positive about the popular show’s delay and said that “it could be perceived as a “blessing in disguise for the writers”, who have had more time to “just sit down, think, and create”.
She continued that “Normally, we get the first few scripts, and then they have to keep writing due to the schedule of it. It takes a while to craft a script. So, normally, there’s a kind of ‘writing as we’re going’, but it seems they’ve had enough time.”
Besides this, Natalia Dyer also revealed that the next season, which they started filming pre-pandemic, would actually have nine episodes, rather than the usual eight like the first and third seasons. She stated that “I’m excited by the scripts. I’m excited about everything that this season is going to be.”
There is not much known about the direction of the Strangers Things season 4, however, what we know is that it will further explore the mythology, and bring back the character of David Harbour as Jim Hopper.
Production on the fourth season of Stranger Things had started back in February 2020, and it was expected that the Stranger Things season 4 would be released during 2020-21.
But, due to coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of the series took a halt in March, which left it with no current release date. However, earlier this month, filming on the series was suggested to be “tentatively” moving towards a start date in September.
