Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation
The Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation in 2014 committed up to $2M seasonally to subsidize youth sports through its Sports Matter program. More than $50M has been pledged for youth sports actions. It served hundreds of thousands of athletes, as of mid-2018. The firm also launched an awareness campaign with Michael B. Jordan and Jon Gruden attending as spokespeople.
They worked with Judd to release We Could Be King, a documentary film about two Philadelphia high school football teams forced to join due to lack of funding. Following Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The foundation donated $2M to youth sports facilities and programs in affected areas. Including $120,000 for Houston’s reVision soccer team. It comprised of emigrants from Africa. Dick’s next featured the crew in a documentary-style advertisement called reVision FC: A Holiday Assist.
Sponsorships and Partnerships
The firm-sponsored Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Later became the official sporting goods retailer for the Team United States of America for the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.
Team USA and Dick’s established the Contender Program and Ambassador’s Program in partnership with the US Olympic Committee, employing Olympians and proposed Olympic athletes.
As of March–July 2016 Dick’s employed about 200 Team USA athletes playing in 35 different Olympic and Paralympic sports. All of these athletes worked in 89 stores in over 32 states.
