Then it was entirely withdrawn from the timetables, before receiving its current date. Apart from the fact that, following an apparent death, the character of John David Washington awakes in the “afterlife” to “prevent World War 3” and “something worse” than a nuclear holocaust, the first Tenet trailer does not show anything of the plot.
And while Robert Pattinson clarified to GQ that in the film there is no time travel, we see some time-bending in motion as car accidents and reverse boat sailing occur. Washington’s Protagonist says the shooting “hasn’t happened yet” while examining a bullet-ridden wall.
The second trailer describes the “time travel” of the film as “inversion,” or having something upside down or in an opposite direction, location, or structure. Some also theorized that the film is a palindrome, like a title, the same forwards as it is backward, which could justify the action that we have seen unfolding in reverse.
