Tangled was released in 2010 and it was a hit for Disney. It’s been over a decade but there’s still no news of Tangled 2. Tangled was directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard. It is based on the classic fairy tale Rapunzel, but story of the princess with long hair locked away in a tower gets longer.
The character Flynn Rider is a thief who stumbles upon Rapunzel’s tower while he tries to escape from some guards. They both agree for Flynn to take Rapunzel to see the floating lanterns that appear on her birthday every year. They eventually learn that Rapunzel is actually a long-lost princess whose parents have been searching for her ever since her disappearance.
Is Tangled 2 happening?
There’s no news that says Tangled 2 is under development. Disney mostly known for its many franchises, but big-screen second parts to Disney’s animated movies are the most awesome ones. While there haven’t been sequels to movies like Aladdin and The Lion King in the 1990s and 2000s. But recently Disney has started to make sequels like Ralph Breaks The Internet and Frozen 2 to hit theatres.
When will Tangled 2 come out?
If Tangled starts to develop, it would definitely take many years for it to hit theatres. In 200, Tangled was firstly named as Rapunzel as they already had a 2007 release planned. But for the film to hit theatres, it took 7 years. In terms of Tangled 2, Frozen 2 can say about the time frame for how long it would take to make. Frozen 2 was announced in March 2015 and released in November 2019. So, even if Tangled 2 will be reported to develop this year, its release would probably be in 2024 or 2025.
What would be the story?
Tangled ends with Flynn cutting off Rapunzel’s hair in order to free her from Mother Gothel. But it makes the hair to lose its magical abilities and turn brown. In Tangled: The Series, they found a way around by magically restoring Rapunzel’s hair.
Tangled: The Series showed that Flynn is actually the long-lost prince of another kingdom. Tangled 2 could be the same as Tangled: The Series, or it could be a different storyline.
