Suicide Squad 2 Confirmed, Announced at DC’s Fandome Event.

DC's Sucide Squad

DC announced the new Suicide Squad movie in its Fandom event held on 22 August. The first movie did very well at the Box Office despite it being bashed by critics. Contrary to recent rumors, the film will not be a sequel to the first iteration of Suicide Squad that came out in 2016. However, there will be a major change in cast.

Here’s what we know so far.

Suicide Squad 2 Release Date

Suicide Squad 2 is set to release in theatres on 4 August 2021. The movie was filmed between September 2019 and February 2020 and therefore did not have to face the drawbacks of the pandemic.

Suicide Squad 2 Trailer

No official trailer has been released for the movie so far; however, a few sneak leeks were shared at DC’s fandom event, which wasn’t uploaded to the internet.

Suicide Squad 2 Plot

Little is known about the plot of Suicide Squad 2 since the creators are keeping all information top-secret, and since this movie will not serve as a sequel to the first.

The new movie will be influenced by Jon Ostrander and Kim Yale’s 1980s comic run, rather than the New 52 version that inspired Ayer’s original film.

The general idea behind Suicide Squad, known in the comics as Task Force X, is that a group of supervillains is assembled, usually by force, to use their unique abilities to carry out missions for the government.

One thing is for sure, with James Gunn behind the wheel, the same director who gave us a gem like Guardians of Galaxy, the new Suicide Squad movie will be packed with action and humor alike.
