Sony delays the release of two Spider-Man movies.
The film industry across the world is suffering losses over the COVID-19 situation. The restrictions under which, businesses can operate are not enough for most of the filming activity to take place. Most production houses have had to delay the release of their films. Many of them even have had to pause their production schedule over the Coronavirus situation. Just like many other studios, Sony is also under similar circumstances. According to newer reports, the production house has been moving its schedule around because of the Coronavirus pandemic that currently haunts the world. If the reports are believed to be true, Sony is delaying two of the biggest Spider-Man movies that the fans were expecting will be out soon.
The upcoming Spider-Man movies that we were expecting will be out soon include ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and its sequel. This would make it the third installment in the ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ franchise. This movie has been created in partnership with Marvel Studios. The movies have been receiving quite some long delays in the past. After going through an eight-month long delay, it was decided that the movie will face a giant delay yet again.
The third film is expected to release on October 7th, 2022. As can be recalled, it was previously scheduled to release on April 8th, 2022. The final movie is also in the making. It has been reported that the final movie in the Homecoming trilogy is expected to come out on November 5th, 2021. The same movie was scheduled to release on July 16th, 2021. Sony is also working on another Spider-Man universe movie. This one is called, ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage.’ This movie is expected to release on June 25th, 2021. The movie was scheduled to release on October earlier this year. However, the same schedule has now undergone a change too.
Disney has also extended its support for the delay. In an effort to accommodate the movie, they have decided to delay the release of two of its other films. The movies that will be releasing later in the year include, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ This release will be accompanied by ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’ This is also a follow up to the Doctor Strange franchise.
This is considered to be a big movie for Marvel as they have decided to re-order the change in the Marvel Universe. When it comes to release dates, it goes without saying that Doctor Strange will be given priority. This will go on to become the third live follow-up that has been delayed in the Spider-Man universe. Most of these aspects are uncertain. The only positive thing about Sony delaying the release of the film and the fans being glued to seeing what they can get is the fact that Tom Holland is going to be in the movie.
