Shrek is a media franchise from DreamWorks Animation. The series is based on William Steig’s 1990 picture book of the same name. Four computer-animated films are there Sherk (2001), Sherk 2 (2004), Sherk The Third (2007), and Sherk Forever After (2010). Sherk D-4 a short 4 D film released in 2003 which originally was a theme park ride. Two television special Sherk The Halls (2007) and Scared Sharkless (2010) have also released. All the previous films were a huge success. Now as per sources 5th film is currently in works.
Brief Details About Shrek 5 –
As per sources Shrek 5 is in the development stage but it will not hit the screen soon. The audience will have to wait. According to the sources, Shrek 5 release date is September 2022. The filming will begin later half of 2020.
The executive producer of the first and second films revealed that the Shrek story has been planned for 5 films from the beginning only. He further said before the first one was finished they discussed the whole story of Shrek and each of the chapters answers questions about the first film and gives an insight.
The only update that is shared by the creators is that script is ready. The script is being written by Michael McCullers. They have not revealed the story until now expect the fact that the story will be in accordance with the present-day children. The story will focus on Shrek’s family and kids.
The characters in Shrek 5 are going to be the same but a new plot and theme will be introduced. The new characters could play an important part in how the film shapes up. According to rumours, the character in Shrek 5 will be similar to modern gadgets.
