Shaun Weiss, Another Celebrity Who Fell Victim to Drug Abuse

Shaun Weiss

Shaun Weiss is an American and a former television and film actor. He is currently worth a mere $500 – your iPhone probably costs more. This, however, was not always the case for Weiss. Back in the 1990s, he was a decorated child star, known most notably for his portrayal of Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks.

Overview and Early Life

Shaun Weiss was born on August 27, 1978, in Montvale, New Jersey. The youngest of 5 children, he began his acting career in the 1980s. His breakthrough came when he played Elvis on Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, after appearing for several TV commercials here and there. Weiss then went on to star in many TV shows including but not limited to The King of Queens, City Guys, Family Law, Undressed, Saved By the Bell, Las Vegas, and many more.

Shaun Weiss has also starred in all three of the Mighty Ducks movies, playing the role of Goldberg.

Legal Issue and Fall From Fame with Shaun Weiss

The reason you probably haven’t heard of Weiss in a while, or why Shaun Weiss is worth less than the device you’re reading this article on, is because the former actor fell prey to drug abuse and other illegal activities that aren’t exactly good for your resume.

In 2017 Shaun Weiss was sentenced to 150 days in jail for petty theft but was released after just 12 days due to overcrowding. Five days later, he was arrested for possession of crystal meth. He was arrested again in 2018 for public intoxication and yet again in 2020 for being high on drugs.

Therefore, it is no wonder the ex-actor is in the state he is in today. No studio in their right minds would want to cast him, especially with cancel-culture growing so rapidly in this age, attacking anything inappropriate. It would show no mercy to a felon and a drug addict in these hard times.
Weiss’ manager is optimistic, however, and hopes that his most recent imprisonment finally serves as a wake-up call for him to get his life sorted out and get back in the industry. The way we see it, Weiss has no better choice, considering he is just 42 years old and still has a long way to go before throwing in the towel.
