Sex Education has been one of the finest British teen dramas, released by Netflix in the year 2019. After its first season, it has gained a viewership of over 40 million, making it the talk of the town. Some even believed it to be a “much needed” show for the society, as it broke the much needed taboo on teenage sexuality. Developed by Laurie Nunn, this comedy-drama stars Asa Butterfield and Emma Mackey as the lead characters. The first part of this franchise was released on 11 January, 2019 and it consisted of eight episodes in total. Since its release, Sex Education has been nominated for several eminent awards and has received an IMDb rating of 8.3.
The story revolves around Otis, an unsocial high school student, who has no experience when it comes to lovemaking, but surprisingly enough, turns out to be a great mentor in that field. Looking at his flair, he decided to team up with his classmate Maeve, and opens up a sex therapy clinic of his own to help their classmates deal with their issues. What follows after is a series of happy-sad events, full of comedy and insights at the same time.

Netflix has finally decided to come up with the next season of this top-notch teen drama. The official announcement was done by Headmaster Groff (Alistair Petrie) himself and it has gotten the fans excited. Netflix launched a YouTube trailer confirming the sequel.
When Is The Sequel Releasing?
Sex Education came up with the first two parts of the franchise in the month of January of 2019 and 2020. Therefore, we can estimate the release of the next part in the month of January of 2021. However, the dates aren’t confirmed yet and there might be a shift in the estimated dates due to the present COVID-19 situation throughout the globe. A lot of productions are at hold and Sex Education Season 3 might be one of them.
Will Maeve and Otis End Up Together?
The second season ended on a cliffhanger, suggesting a new twist in the story-line. While most of the other characters settled for someone or the other, fans were disheartened to see Maeve and Otis not end up together yet again! While Otis finally mustered the courage to leave a voicemail on Maeve’s phone saying, “It’s you. It’s always been you.”, the audience was dismayed to see Issac delete the voicemail, indicating his infatuation for Maeve. The ending suggests that we will get to see a love triangle in the upcoming sequel; the fans, nevertheless, are hoping to see the lead characters unite.
