Rami Said Malek is an American actor and producer. He is best known for his role as computer hacker Elliot Alderson in the US TV series Mr. Robot, for which he received many awards such as the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and as Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), for which he received awards such as the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award for Best Actor.
Rami Malek Early Life
Rami Said Malek was born in Los Angeles on May 12, 1981. His parents were Egyptian immigrants. His father was a tour guide in Cairo, who later became an insurance agent.
He went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, the same High School as the Future actresses Kirsten Dunst and Rachel Bilson went.
Career
Malek made his first entry in films in 2006 with a small side role in the comedy-fantasy film ‘Night at the Museum’. He played the role of Pharaoh Ahkmenrah and made his role again in the movie’s second part, ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’ in 2009.
In 2010, he appeared in a few episodes of the famed TV series ‘24’ and ‘The Pacific’. In 2011, he played a supporting role in the comedy film ‘Larry Crowne’. Malek was seen in ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 2’ in 2012.
In 2015, he began playing the lead role in the drama thriller TV series ‘Mr. Robot’. He portrayed Elliot Alderson, an engineer and hacker, who gets recruited by Mr. Robot and it won him an Emmy Award.
Malek made a role as singer Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018,’ for which he won several awards, including the ‘Academy Award’ for best actor.
