Walt Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean for its sixth production is back on track. Jeff Nathanson and Terry Rossio are scripting the movie.
Sean Bailey, the chief of Disney Film Production has said in an interview in 2018, that the team wants to bring back the franchise into motion once again with renewed vigour and energy as the later sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean was not much popular amongst the audience.
Sean Bailey adds-
“I love the [Pirates] movies, but part of the reason Paul [Wernick] and Rhett [Reese] are so interesting is that we want to give it a kick in the pants. And that’s what I’ve tasked them with.”
The franchise was established in 2003 and it was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Craig Mazin is also working alongside Ted Elliot for the script.
So, it is in news that Disney has undertaken two different versions of Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and this won’t follow the linear narrative of the first five movie. Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott will pen down one of the reboots and Jack Sparrow might not appear in this one. Series producer Jerry Bruckheimer has not actively revealed any information and everything is just working in speculations. He had approached Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen down the script but this did not happen.
The other reboot of Pirates of the Caribbean series, will feature a new cast with a brand new story. Margot Robbie is reported to work in this untitled movie, with writer Christina Hodson who will pen down the script. This is a plan under development and no news has been revealed about how far this project has reached.
