The most loved Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, who is famous for his film Christopher Robin and Star Wars is reportedly voicing the character of Jiminy Cricket in the upcoming film ‘Pinocchio’ remake.
According to the report, our beloved actor disclosed about this fact in an interview which was recently held with a renowned magazine and revealed that he would be the part of a remake of the 1940 hit film Pinocchio.
Christopher Robin star confessed in an interview that he would play the role of Jiminy Cricket in the upcoming “Pinocchio” remake which has been directed by Guillermo del Toro. The actor also added that before leaving for New York, he started working on this, so some of his parts have already been recorded. Later, Ewan McGregor also expressed that this upcoming 1940 hit film Pinocchio is a stop-motion animated film, so it is going to take a lot of time for the filmmakers to make the film.
Besides that, the Star Wars actor also revealed how the first part of the film making has been completed. Ewan also disclosed that his first part, which was recording the dialogue, is sort of done. Possibly there is a song too that has to be recorded. He is not completely sure about it nor is he sure to disclose this publically. After that, he also discussed the release of the film and said that Guillermo del Toro directorial ‘Pinocchio’ would be out in 2021.
Ewan McGregor, also shared that this upcoming film is portraying a darker story than the original Disney animated classic.
In addition to this, there are also reports which suggest that Streaming giant Netflix first gave the idea of making such film. And one of our sources has also reported that it was decided in the year 2010 that how the darker side of Pinocchio which is written in 2002 book by Gris Grimly would be filmed.
Recently, our handsome actor Ewan McGregor posted a video on his Instagram account. A black and white version of Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us” was shared by the actor in order to support the Black Lives Matter protests following the tragic death of George Floyd. Ewan captioned the picture with the hashtag #blacklivesmatter. Apart from that, a black post on his profile in support of the moment was also shared.
