Orville is an American science fiction comedy-drama. As per the official update from the creator of the series Orville is renewed for season 3. Season 3 is in the filming stage which began in October 2019. “I am confident this will be the most surprising season yet. It is not going where you think it is going”, Seth MacFarlane. The new season was initially planned for 2020 release, but now the dates are pushed back due to the COVID crisis. No exact date has been announced.
Little details are known about the plot of the new season. Associated producer and editor hinted that the storyline would not be dropped. There will be a continuation of things. Even things that the audience has complained about on social media will be taken care of.
Season 3 will have 11 episodes which Hulu will release on a weekly basis. Each episode will be shown 15 minutes extra than previous episodes. Initially, 13 episodes were planned by the writer but later reduced to 11. Dramatic storytelling and action-based narratives are expected in season 3.
The producer in an interview said the show just could not be a fun space. He said, commenting on current society and social mores is their responsibility. The reason audience watch is only because of the characters. These emotional stories drive the show.
