Oprah Winfrey to be seen in Ta-Nehisi Coates’ “Between The World And Me”

According to the latest reports, the most renowned and successful philanthropist and talk show host Oprah Winfrey is going to delight her fans with the comeback on the big screen. One of the most inspiring personalities in the World, Winfrey, is all set to make a return to the acting world with her new HBO film, “Between The World and Me.”

Along with Winfrey, many other renowned actors such as  Courtney B. Vance, Alicia Garza, Susan Kelechi,  Watson, Phylicia Rashad, Tariq Trotter, Joe Morton, Pauletta Washington, Angela Bassett are featured in the film. The film Between the World & Me is an adaptation of the stage show, which is based on the popular book Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Originally adapted and staged by the Apollo Theater in 2018, the special will combine elements of that production, including readings from Coates’ book, and will once again be directed by award-winning director and Apollo Theater Executive Producer Kamilah Forbes. It will also incorporate documentary footage.

One World first published the book in 2015, and it is written as a letter to Coates’ adolescents and describes the experiences of the author which grow up in Baltimore’s inner city and his growing fear of everyday violence against the Black community. The narrative explores the notion of Coates that American society promotes the structure of white supremacy.

Now under the COVID- 19 rules, the special is being developed and will debut this fall on HBO and HBO Max.
