OnePlus 5 and 5T gets OxygenOS open beta update with Project Treble support

All the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T raise your hands because these smartphones have been officially confirmed to receive the new Android P update under Google’s Project Treble. OnePlus earlier stated in its official statement that adding Project Treble wasn’t easy in its older versions since it requires a partition and storage which its older versions lacked and even OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T lacked the capability but not for long. In the latest statement, OnePlus has officially added Project Treble for both OnePlus 5 and 5T bundled with its new tweaked UI OxygenOS open beta 13 and 11 for OnePlus 5 and 5T respectively.

Firstly, the new UI which comes bundled with Android OS has brought several features such as a new user interface that looks chic and stylish. There is an add-on called color wheel that lets the user-customized colors. The app drawer has been revamped to include New Installs tag and a separate easy-to-handle app list for all toolbox and space which is hidden. The developers have also tweaked logic for contacts page while the overall user interface of the OS has been improved to enrich user experience. OnePlus has reworked the weather app by integrated all forecasts in a single interface and much more.

Now, let’s talk about OnePlus, Treble and Android P. Android operating system receives a new iteration every year and that has been continued for over 10 years now. Project Treble needs an extra partition and storage in order to sustain new software updates, OnePlus earlier stated that its older versions aren’t capable of doing so but after months of evaluation, OnePlus has finally confirmed that its OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will receive Android P update bundled with OnePlus’ OxygenOS open beta version that lets both these stunning and powerful smartphones to actually skip Android Oreo and upgrade to Android P.
