The most popular American actress, director and writer Elizabeth Banks who is best known for playing the role in Spider-Man film series is reportedly featuring in the upcoming live-action film ‘The Magic School Bus’. She is going to play the role of the iconic teacher Ms Frizzle in the upcoming movie.
This live-action film is inspired by the popular 90s animated show of the same name “The Magic School Bus’’ in which, the Power Rangers actress is going to portray the role of the iconic science teacher Ms Frizzle.
Back in the 1990s, Lily Tomlin portrayed Ms Frizzle in her animated series that is an adaptation of the famous book written by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen. The film producer Lole Lucchese said that Ms Frizzle is revitalizing her character in a fresh way which will inspire the new generation.
The film producer Lole Lucchese stated that “We are delighted to bring to life the iconic Ms Frizzle and her zest for knowledge and adventure in a fresh new way that inspires the next generation of kids to explore science and supports the dedicated teachers who help make science real and accessible for young learners every day”.
Well, it’s not the first time the popular animated series is rebuilt. Three years back, in 2017, Netflix debuted the sequel to The Magic School Bus Rides Again with Kate McKinnon as Ms. Frizzle’s sister, Fiona, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show’s end.
If we talk about Elizabeth Banks, she is also co-producing the live-action movie apart from featuring it. Banks was last seen in FX series Mrs. America and Sony’s Charlie’s Angels, and she also directed this same series.
The original animated series was broadcasted for 18 consecutive years in the U.S., and it was premiered in more than 100 countries across the globe. And it has received tremendous audience response.
Other recent Hollywood projects of Scholastic include Sony’s Goosebumps films as well as Clifford’s Big Red Dog’s forthcoming hybrid live-action/animation hybrid adaptation, which is set to be released in this November through Paramount.
