It should not surprise anyone, but yes! Netflix has confirmed season three of the famous drama-comedy series ‘Sex Education’. Launched back in 2019, the web television series has garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences worldwide. Sex Education witnessed more than 40 million online streams within the first week of its release and remained in the top ten popular shows in the UK and US. Fans are excited and eagerly waiting to see the next season of Sex Education.
The Headmaster Groff (Alistair Petrie) came forward to confirm the third season. Previously, show’s creator and writer Laurie Nunn had revealed that she is already working on the next series of Sex Education and will soon finish the storyline.
“I’ve started writing series three, but that’s just a very normal part of the process because we work on such tight schedule, and season three hasn’t been greenlit yet or officially commissioned,” Nunn said.
Sex Educations stars Asa Butterfield as a socially awkward teenager and Gillian Anderson as his character’s mother and a sex therapist. The first series follows the story of Otis Milburn, a socially awkward teenager who is ambivalent about sex even though, or perhaps because, his mother is a sex therapist who is frank about all aspects of sexuality. After inadvertently assisting the school bully with his sexual performance anxiety, Otis sets up a sex advice business with Maeve—a confident but troubled classmate—to help their fellow students with their sexual problems.
The second series follows Otis who, after finally securing a relationship with Ola, is hit with the reality and pressures of a high school romance. That romance is further tested by the introduction of new students who challenge the status quo at Moordale High and a chlamydia outbreak that causes students to question and struggle with topical issues.
Sex Education Season 3 Release Date
Sex Education season 1 premiered on 11 January 2019, and the second season was dropped on January 17, 2020. We can assume that Sex Education Season 3 will release in January 2021. However, the coronavirus outbreak has halted the production of nearly every show and delayed the release date. We can witness a delay in the release of Sex Education season 3 as well.
