Just a day before its official launch in China, Motorola Moto P30’s press renders has leaked on the web after the photos and its list of specifications was posted on Motorola’s Chinese website after which, the photos were withdrawn yet the screenshots were obtained till then. What’s most striking is how Moto P30 (the smartphone in question) looks similar to Apple iPhone X that was launched last year in fall.
The photos reveal a lot about the soon-to-be-released Moto P30 that sports an edge-to-edge display with a notch. Although that’s something almost every Android smartphone maker has taken inspiration from but Motorola went a step ahead by creating a total rip off of the original iPhone X. To start with, it has a notch of a size similar to iPhone X. It is an edge-to-edge display with narrow bezels on the sides but there is a chin at the bottom to accommodate Motorola’s name which resembles much like Honor Play.
No doubt ‘xyz’ Chinese manufacturers would create an exact copy of the original Apple iPhone X but its Motorola we are talking about, a brand known to introduce many firsts in the smartphone market but unfortunately, it has made a total copy of the much-acclaim Apple iPhone.
The phone has a sandwiched front and back glass with an aluminum body with a 2.5D curved front glass. Further, it has a 6.2” IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2160p resolution with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The base model features 64GB of internal storage with 6gigs of RAM while there is a 128GB variant too. The processor to use is still under question but it might possibly use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC with Adreno 509.
About the optics, it has a rear vertically placed dual-camera setup with 16MP with f/1.8, 1.25micrometer pixel size and a 5MP depth sensor with an aperture of 5MP. While the front has a 12MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.9. If you look at the photos, it resembles much like iPhone X’ rear dual-camera setup which is another ‘BOO’ point for Motorola.
It has a fingerprint scanner camouflaged with Motorola’s logo on the rear panel which if you take a close look, it is located on the same place where iPhone X has its Apple logo. Apart from that, the phone has a 3,000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery with fast battery charging 18W capability. It is expected to cost around RMB 1,999 or Rs. 20,400 for the base variant of 64GB while the higher storage variant of 128GB will have a price tag of RMB 2,399 or Rs. 24,400.
Further, Motorola Moto P30 will be launched in China tomorrow on August 15 along with Moto P30 Plus and Moto P30 Note. A news portal suspects that Motorola might face the wrath of Apple’ legal team if it decides to launch the Moto P30 outside China but that’s just an assumption.
