After it was revealed by Money Heist creator Álex Pina that he had started working on season 5, Netflix confirmed that the upcoming season for this insanely loved Spanish crime drama would also be it’s last. Apart from that, show makers also disclosed that Money Heist season 5 would have 10 episodes, shot across Spain, Denmark, and Portugal.
Besides this, two new cast members were also announced by Netflix, Spanish actor Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado who will feature in the finale. Recently, it was reported that production work on Money Heist season 5 has started in August.
Showrunner Álex Pina stated in one of his statements that “We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band.” Adding to it he said, “How to put the Professor (Álvaro Morte) on the ropes, how to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel”. He continued, “the war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”
The highly successful Spanish crime-drama series Money Heist season 5 is featuring Alvaro Morte as the Professor, Úrsula Coberó as Tokyo, Najwa Nimri as Inspector Sierra, Fernando Cayo as Coronel Tamayo, Pedro Alonso as Berlin, Darko Peric as Helsinki, Miguel Herrán as Rio, Itziar Ituño as Lisbon, Esther Acebo as Stockholm, Jaime Lorente as Denver, Enrique Arce as Arturo, Hovik Keuchkerian as Bogotá, Luka Peros as Marseille, Rodrigo de la Serna as Palermo, Belén Cuesta as Manila, and José Manuel Poga as Gandía.
Apart from being the showrunner, Álex Pina is also the executive producer alongwith Jesús Colmenar and Cristina López Ferraz, who is also the director of production.
Though Javier Gómez Santander will be the head writer on Money Heist season 5, Migue Amodeo will serve as the director of photography.
Esther Martínez-Lobato, Santander, and Amodeo are co-producing the series. This extraordinary series will be directed by Koldo Serra, Jesús Colmenar, and Álex Rodrigo. Money Heist is a production of Vancouver Media, which was founded by Pina.
