It is officially verified that ‘messiah’ is cancelled and dismissed by Netflix after its first season for being an aggressive drama which aired on 1st January 2020. On 26th March 2020, Netflix officially notified the revocation after season one.

Messiah is an American thriller drama television series which is created by Michael Petroni; where the first season vented with 10 episodes with a time duration of 1 hour each.
Messiah is a story which centres the character Al-Masik; where a CIA officer investigates a man and his followers; attracting international attention through acts of public disturbance, she undertakes a global high-stakes goal to uncover whether he is a spiritual entity or a tricky con artist. The plot overall is related to the faiths, beliefs and politics.
The ending of messiah demonstrated that one part implies that Al-Masik has godly strengths whereas the other part suggested that he is a conman committing the world in the biggest drift of all time; so the conclusion is like “it’s up to you” decision.
The trailer of fist season itself gave rise to some controversy regarding discriminating Muslim religions and the royal film commission of Jordan requested Netflix to abstain from streaming messiah in the country due to provoking the subject matter. To the note; messiah is meant by a saviour of a group of people in Abrahamic religions. So which gave a lot of bad comments on the series.
The first season obtained mixed comments on the storyline, directing and acting which also stated one of the reasons to cancel the second season from Netflix.
Netflix has opted not to revive proactive drama messiah for a second season.
The co-star communicated his feelings on Instagram about the revocation of the second season “it’s a very sad day today, I have just received news from Netflix that there will be no season 2 of Messiah and I wanted to say to all the fans, thank you for your support and love. I wish things were different”
The creator Michael Petroni spoke and gave us hope for the second sequel on the series messiah“I have got a good idea, there are a couple of seasons where I absolutely know where the show goes. It’s interesting because it was such a massive undertaking to do this season and yet when we finished editing it and we sat down and watched it, we got to the end of it and felt like just the beginning. It really did”.
So we can assume that the creator has confided that the end is the beginning; so all they need right now is a platform or a network to telecast the second season of the messiah. If likely, they got a platform; then the possibility of release of messiah 2 will be out by the end of 2021 or early of 2022.
