Season 3 of Jessica Jones released in 2019, and ever since it concluded, fans have been wondering if there will be a Marvels’ Jessica Jones Season 4. Unfortunately, Netflix has ended its partnership with Marvel following the release of Disney+, and it seems we have already seen the last of Jessica’s super-powered shenanigans.
The show follows Jessica Jones, a super-powered woman in the MCU trying to repress her powers whilst running from her past. She seeks to forget past regressions by burying herself into other people’s problems and becomes a private investigator. Her past catches up to her, however, as an evil figure from her past re-emerges and she is forced to confront him. For 3 seasons, fans get to see Jessica’s character develop as she embraces her powers and learns to be a team player.
Jessica Jones Season 4 Release Date
Jessica Jones was canceled before the release of season 3 in February 2019, becoming the last show out of the five Netflix-Marvel shows to get compensated. One possible reason for this is the release of Marvel parent company Disney’s Disney+ streaming service, which Netflix saw as a potential competitor and decided to cut ties with Marvel, despite their successful run together.
In any case, season 3 will be the last we ever get. The third season tied all loose ends and gave our hero a deserving farewell, seeing as it would be her last time on screen.
Other streaming services may acquire the Netflix-Marvel characters, but all the contract complications coupled with new story development will make that scenario highly unlikely. So don’t expect season 4 anytime shortly.
What the Show is About ?
Jessica Jones is a super-powered character from the Marvel comics. She enjoys a brief stint as a superhero before Kilgrave, one of her enemies, causes her to kill someone. Following the incident, she hangs up her superhero mantle and pursues a career as a private investigator. Kilgrave, however, resurfaces, and Jessica must rise to him once again.
In season 2, Jessica discovers her mother is still alive, thanks to the experiments done by Karl Malus. In season 3, she faces off against Trish Walker, who takes on a murderous path to prove Jessica is a fraud.
