The devil is back once again and this time with an archenemy who looks like himself. The show received wide viewership. The first three seasons were aired in Fox and was later cancelled by the channel. Later Netflix took up the show and it has been running successfully till then. The show first premiered on January 25, 2016. It is an interesting plot and after all the devil himself has come to earth. Havoc is expected to happen. The show is a combination of humour, crime and action. Even interesting, the action happens between eternal beings. Tom Kapinos developed the show and it is based on the character from The Sandman.

Lucifer season 5 was speculated to be the last of the series and the first part was released in August 2020. However, happy news for all fans as the show is renewed for a sixth season too. Read to find out more about the updates.

What is the storyline of Lucifer?

Lucifer as the name suggest presents the life of the devil himself. However, it doesn’t show his life in hell but rather on earth among humans. Lucifer Morningstar, Lord of the Hell is bored of his life there and decides to come to LA, the sinful place on earth. He owns a nightclub on earth named Lux but things don’t go for him as planned. He left the earth in defiance of his dad and has to pay for it. In this journey, he meets the smart and beautiful detective Chloe Decker and later becomes her partner in investigation. One eternal being come to earth, the others are bound to follow. Season 5 part 1 also brought in Lucifer’s twin brother Michael who came here to mess things up for his brother.

Lucifer season 5 part 1 released in August and the fans are waiting for the second part to air. The first part ended in a very interesting manner leaving the fans with a cliffhanger. The production is already done for the second part. Tom Ellis, the lead actor had mentioned that the second part is likely to release in early 2021. However, since we know the production is wrapped up, we can expect the season to premiere by the end of 2020.

The cast is expected to be the same as previous seasons with Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Chloe, Kevin Alejandro as Dan, D.B.Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley Ann Bandt as Mazikeen, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie, Rachael Harris as Linda and the others including Ella and Mum/Goddess. The fans are also likely to see God himself this time.
