Since the very first day of its release, Lucifer season 5 has become the most appreciated show of 2020. It immediately grabbed its position on the top ten lists by Netflix. This season featured Lucifer’s twin brother, Michael, as if Lucifer alone wasn’t enough to charm the show. As we were going crazy about the plot twists at the end of season 5, Netflix already confirmed part 2. Lucifer has become one of Netflix’s biggest original series. Netflix took over the production from season 3 after Fox canceled the show.
About Lucifer
Lucifer is an American fantasy series that originally premiered on Fox in 2016. The show is based on DC Comic character named Lucifer Samael Morningstar.
The show revolves around Lucifer Morningstar, the Lord of the hell. Fed up of Hell, he decides to come upon earth to take a break and spite his father aka God. He abandons hell and resides in Los Angeles, where he runs his own nightclub called The LUX. He later gets involved in a murder investigation where he meets Chloe, the LAPD Detective. It takes Lucifer by surprise when his charming “mojo” doesn’t work on Chloe. He is then hired as a consultant for the LAPD and becomes Chloe’s partner. Throughout the show, Lucifer and the people around him go through several celestial occurrences as a consequence of him leaving hell.
Release Date Lucifer Season 5 Part B
Lucifer’s season 5 was released on 21 August 2020 on Netflix. With such a cliff-hanger ending, people were expecting a season 6 renewal. However, it was announced that it was only the first part of Season 5. The second part was confirmed almost immediately.
People have been eagerly waiting for Lucifer Season 5 part 2, but there is no confirmed date declared yet. However, Lucifer’s executive producer, Chris Raffety, addressed the fans regarding the release of part 2. He cleared that COVID-19 disrupted their plans.
A LOT of people are asking me this question. Sadly the answer is: we don't know. We were 95% done #LuciferSeason5 when Covid shut us down 🙁 We'll resume when we can, but our priority = keeping everyone safe. You'll hear when it's ready 😁 Till then, rewatching is your friend! 😉 pic.twitter.com/8y4wareTw3

According to the latest update, the show has resumed the production in September 2020. Most of the filming was done before the production had to pause due to the global pandemic. In an interview with Collider, Lucifer star Tom Ellis said, “We have a tentative start date in September. The plan is that we come back and finish what we have left of Season 5, which is about five or six days left to shoot. So, we’ll get that done first. They can take that off and get that edited and ready, and do all of the post-production stuff they have to do and add it to what we already have in the can. And then, we’ll be able to put out Season 5, Part 2. Meanwhile, we’ll be working away on Season 6, which is going to be interesting, given how the world has changed.
What to expect from Lucifer season 5 Part B?
First part of season 5 ended with the appearance of God on earth amidst the ongoing fight between Lucifer and Maze, and Amenadiel and Michael. We’ll get to see Michael’s next step against Lucifer.
