One of Hulu’s top sitcoms is finally back with its brand new season – Letterkenny Season 9! Developed by Jared Keeso and directed by Jacob Tierney, this Canadian TV sitcom had won the award for the “Best Comedy Series” back in 2017. This eight-season show has been adapted from Keeso’s short-format web series, Letterkenny Problems, which was released on YouTube in the year 2013. After securing a lot of prestigious awards immediately after its release, the makers decided to air it on a bigger screen.
The show opens with the declaration “There are 5000 people in Letterkenny. These are their problems.” Letterkenny is a small town in Canada and the series is based on the lives of the people living in it. What makes this show people’s favorite, is the realistic portrayal of everyday problems with a tinge of humor, making it very relatable.
Letterkenny Season 9: When Is It Coming?
There hasn’t been any confirmation about the upcoming sequel with regards to the release date from the makers. However, the series was renewed for the ninth season in June 2020, five months after the launch of the eighth season. The tragic news for the fans is that the shooting of the next season has been hindered due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The production, as of now, has been held back. One can expect the next season to drop at the fall of 2021, along with a lot of other prominent series. There is not much of a possibility of new characters to be seen on the set of Letterkenny Season 9. Trevor Wilson as Squirrelly Dan, Dylan Playfair as Reilly, Andrew Herr as Jonesy, and Tyler Johnston as Stewart as the lead characters.
