Legacies has been updated for a third season with an official tweet on January 8, 2020 that read: “There’s more monsters to fight. #Legacies has been renewed for season 3”.
The show was first released on 25th of October, 2018 on The CW. A spin off of the wildly popular The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the Legacies grips the attention of the viewers with its super interesting story line.
The CW President Mark Pedowitz had commented about the release of the third season of Legacies. “The CW will start its new season in January 2021, when we will launch our regular primetime schedule,” he said. The series Legacies develops the story of Hope Mikaelson, daughter of Klaus and Hayley who goes to the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, along with other teens with supernatural powers.
Legacies season 3: is the trailer out yet?
While the series is to release early next year, we don’t expect the trailer to release anytime soon at present. We can expect to see some footages if the producers decide to drop it for the viewers.

Legacies Season 3: Plot
In the finale of the second season, Hope was under a sleeping spell and Landon gets stabbed with a golden arrow.
A number of rumours about the possibility of the cameos by TVD and The Originals cast members in the third season is alive. Julie Plec also hints to the return of Caroline and Bonnie. She says that “maybe one day” they might make it to the show.
But Joseph Morgan might not make his appearance as Klaus Mikaelson in the show. In an interview with TV guide he said:
“Like I’m coming back just so we can see something else of him, but when we see it we go, ‘Ugh, that was it?’ And I don’t want his legacy to be, ‘Ugh.’
This seems quite reasonable even if we want to catch a glimpse of him in the show.
Legacies Season 3: Release Date
Pedowitz has said that Legacies season 3 will make it to the screens early next year. This delay has been brought upon due to the pandemic.
Legacies Season 3 will release in January 2021 if the production of the series is on schedule as planned.
